It implements the same process on text and graphics, which gives a great deal of flexibility to the font. The PS driver, a variety of different applications will convert each data to PostScript format. We can see from works of the print engine, the printer can only accept a bitmap format. When printer controller converted PostScript to bitmap format, usually print controller could not handle it due to PostScript is very complex so we usually use Raster Image Processor to complete the conversion process.

PS driver has a speed advantage in handling PDF files or print large graphic image file in Photoshop and other software, while its accuracy in graphics performance, color accuracy and the performance of characters are better than the PCL language, which is suitable for graphics and high color accuracy requirements of professional applications.
